Carpenters Local 243 is an affiliate of the United Brotherhood Carpenters & Joiners of America and the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council. We are located in Central Illinois and we cover 12 Counties. The skilled nature of the carpentry trade is its strength. The goal to genuinely represent the interests of all working women and men to stand up on behalf of basic workers’ issues, such as decent wages, health and safety, civil rights, and a secure environment. “Without the trade union, the workman meets the employer at a great disadvantage.”

Local 243 is East Central Illinois’ home for Union Carpenters. We are a non-profit organization that represents hundreds of skilled, productive and safety-conscious carpenters who work on the largest, most challenging and high-profile projects.
